What the CDC Has to Say About Covid-19 Vaccines for Children

By: Amira Crews

In early November the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration approved the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5-11.

According to the CDC, “Scientists have conducted clinical trials with about 3,000 children, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine has met the safety and efficacy standards for authorization in children ages 5 through 11 years old.  The safety of COVID-19 vaccines continues to be monitored.”

Of course this started controversy between the CDC, parents, and school districts trying to enforce the CDC’s recommendations especially considering there are parents all over the country battling with their districts over the mask mandates set by their state.
